The confession

Reynard the Fox, by Willem · On the way

On the way Reynaert confesses his sins to Grimbeert. There are many. He once got Isengrim made a monk at Elmare and tied his feet to the bell rope; Isengrim rang the bells so wildly that the people beat him black and blue. Grimbeert gives him a penance. Soon after, they pass a farm full of hens, and Reynaert can't take his eyes off them.
