Around the World in Eighty Days, by Jules Verne · 8 Dec 1872

Fogg and Proctor are about to fight their duel in a cleared carriage when the Sioux attack the train. Passepartout climbs under the cars and uncouples the engine, so the train stops at Fort Kearney. He is taken. Fogg goes after him with the soldiers, and brings him back, but the train has gone.
